Went to 1/4 mile racetrack today.
And my car feels pretty friggin zippy on the streets but all I could manage out of the thing was 14.8's consistently for all three passes.
It's a 87 TurboII. 3" downpipe, 2.5" from the collector out to mufflers / Flowmasters. ACT street strip clutch & pressure plate. And a 80's HKS piggyback computer that came already in the car from the previous owner. Everything else is stock.
What would be next move to get better time out of her...?
Rearend hop was HORRIBLE each & every time I came out of the hole.
Thanks.

You probably need to replace your front differential mount. They tend to tear and make the rear end act up a lot. A neat trick that helps is to install a pinion snubber to brace the differential from above. Apparently if you pull the bins there's a centered dimple where you drill and install the snubber. Preload it so it rests gently against the differential and it will protect your new mount from breaking.
I have yet to do this first-hand, but it's the next thing on my to-do list so I've been reading up on it.

I'd love to get something better then just a piggy back but I don't think I'm at that stage yet. I enjoy driving the car as a semi daily and am not looking to tear the whole thing apart just yet.

Can you post a time slip? There's a lot of information in the first few seconds, long before the ET.
But a set of cheater slicks will cut .5 - 1 second off that time. And be kinder on your differential mounts as well as stub shafts.
