Well that's the clutch fixed then...

Drove my new car home to Belfast from Dulin last night.

The clutch master cylinder has been on the way out, but when I left Dublin it was much worse - maybe the colder air had something to do with it. When I got to Dundalk I stopped for petrol (80p/l in EIRE instead of 90 here :/ ). I topped up the clutch master cylinder (and spilt some on the exhaust, which ignited ) After that the clutch pedal was dead as hector.

I had to drive 60miles from Dundalk to Belfast with no clutch pedal

Glad I bought a rebuild kit when I was at RoTechniks on Tuesday! Stuck that in this morning and the clutch is better than ever.

Always good to be able to drive a car without a clutch pedal. The '7 is a lot more difficult than my Subarus, though.

It took me a while to figure out how you managed to spill brake fluid on the exhaust topping off the clutch, but then I realized you drive from the other side, and the clutch cylinder is probably right around the exhaust.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen, one day it was working then I started driving down the road and when I went to shift into second gear the pedal didnt come up so I had to shift in traffic pulling the pedal up and down. Got a NEW clutch master cylinder (Rebuild kits dont last from what I've heard)....feels brand new.
