how would an apex piece come into the oil pan??? they would normally get spit out in the exhaust manifold after destroying pretty much everything...

I dont think it would get through the oil control rings...

can anybody explain to me how can this happens if its possible?

ditto, the only way an apex seal could get into the oil pan would be if half of the rotor was missing.

That's not possible.

Also, change your avatar. I see nipple on the left boob between the pinky and ring finger.

LMAO, nothing gets pass Aaron! =P As for the apex seal in the oil pan, you sure it is a piece of an apex seal? I can't think of ANY way it would end up in the oil pan.

I don't think you should be rebuilding your own engine if you think that's an apex in your oilpan, unless your housing split wide open...

heh, i don't even know what i was thinking, even with half a rotor missing there is still no way an apex seal would wind up in the oil pan... the engine would have to have had a catastrophic failure...

what could it be other than an apex?? i mean i believe you guys and with respect... keep in mind that ive never seen the inside of a rotary except for in the haynes manual...

its an extremely hard piece of metal, and is fairly polished, about 2mm wide, and well, before obviously being chewed up, was originally a flat piece, again, about 2mm wide.

ill get around to the avatar pretty soon... but aaron, i still think that "nipple" is actually a shadow.

Chunk of chain from the oil pump? Part of the sprocket or CAS gear, or more likely, the little key from the oil pump drive shaft.

that key is actually looking like a good choice after looking in the fsm for a little bit, what can happen if it broke... how does it break? the oil pump and chian/sprocket are intact, the motor wont turn though
