man I wish I could be giving yall the results as well. My fiance is getting pissed at me again because this project is taking up alot of my time and this means it's going to be even more time consuming Oh well I guess it's all ok if bryan is cool and takes care of the problem. Only problem is I've heard he takes months to finish a turbo hopefully it doesn't take him that long to do whatever he has to do to fix this problem.

Buying one from Sonic rat, just waiting for it to get here.

To answer your question hondahater, that turbo i was talking about was from that nashville rebuilder kevin was talking about.

yes I am. I just talked to brian and he is damn sure that it just needs the restrictor that he makes out of the stock oil feed line. I must say brian is a very nice guy! We shot the **** for about 20 minutes while he told me about his fd and fc. Very cool guy and was extremely helpfull! I am going to call him the first part of next week and he is going to make me a restrictor and send it over. I would highly recommend a BNR turbo to anyone, because not only the turbo but the service to back it up! I'll let yall know how the restrictor works, thanks again f1blueRx7 for all your help and all the other people that have helped as well.

Hey did the the guy I bought the turbo from ever get back to you? Hopefully the restrictor solves the problem. Since there was no restrictor does that mean the oil seal was blown? Not sure how oil would get in there unless the seal is blown from not having the restrictor.

the restrictor just makes it to have less oil pressure than the car so it will have roughly inbetween 35 and 55 psi oil pressure at all times. What was happening before was that it was getting to much oil and it couldn't drain enough of it at a time so it was leaking past the seal. Once I get the oil restrictor in it will help this problem greatly along with running a line from my tid nipple to oil filler neck nipple. I didn't get intouch with him because I was basically just going to tell brian the hole situation and if he didn't warranty it I would understand no trasferable warranty or whatever but I figured from all the other posts I had read about him he was a pretty cool dude.

So just to clarify, the fact that oil was pushed through the oi seals (due to the lack of a restrictor) does not compromise the oil seal itself?

My tubo rebuilder helped explain why mine was leaking.

There is a stock oil restrictor built into the cartridge.

Some times the turbo rebuilders will remove it to clean it. My rebuilder said it was nescassary to do a good cleaning. I guess the way they had to pull it out ruined it.

So I now have an unrestricted cartridge so it was getting 45-60psi of pressure.

I was smoking like a ****.

I spoke w/ the turbo guys and they told me to make a restrictor.
I was using 4an feed line so I just went to a speedshop and bought a an adapter to s smaller size so it acted as a bottle neck.

So far I only have smoking problems when I first start the car and I'm running 45-60psi at idle(royal purple is some thick *** ****!).

Once the oil is at normal operating temps it runs fine.

See I talked to my re-builder about that issue too and he said the restrictor couldn't be removed. I guess he was just a ******* retard since all 10 rx7 turbo's he's rebuilt are now leaking peices of ****. I guess he'll always be known as the "Guy from nashville that rebuilds turbos". Kevin, think we should start a class action law suit?

I had talked to Rod and Mike about it, since they had turbos that had to be sent in twice (each) under warranty...they both agreed indepedently that it wasnt worth the trouble.

I tell you what, if it does end up being the seal I will be slightly agitated (sp) because it will be my third time to take off and put back on this turbo alone. I'm starting to hate removing turbo's from my car however I am becoming increasingly efficiant at it I believe on this car alone I"ve removed and installed the turbo now going on 7 times, lol. Anyways again I'll let yall know how it goes. Like I said brian was cool as **** and I am sure whatever the problem is he will fix it.
