what could happen from doing this? also isn't buying electrical fans more than a clutch? cuz i would have to rebuild the alternator and do some rewiring as well

You can get a new Perma-cool 16inch"finger chopper" fan from jegs for 90 dollars.I used an adjustable thermostat switch from Advance auto to switch it on and off based on coolant temp. You also need a relay and wire.Total cost was probably 110 to120 dollars. It's cheaper than a new clutch fan and cleans up the engine bay making the car easier to work on.

i have a good fan with clutch that I can sell you for a fair price (30 shipped). dont weld it, if you do whenever you redline the car think of how fast the fan is spinning

( shattered plastic everywhere)

find one on ebay for cheap... and you DO know that the clutch fan is supposed to slip some right?

EDIT: I would have sold you mine, but I just replaced an e-fan I had installed with it. I personaly like the clutch fan better (at least when it works)

well, i just installed an E- fan off of an old escort at the junkyard (10 bucks big woop) onto my buddies FC, and he says (with it wired on the "high" setting) that he gets about a 1/4 lower temps on his stock temp guage. easy, simple, and 10 bucks.

sounds like he had either a faulting stock cooling system, or hes running the placebo affect...
