Welding EGT bung
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to weld an autometer EGT bung into a racingbeat downpipe?
Would i be able to get away with just tapping the downpipe? I mean, it's THICK SS, no?

Never done a Autometer myself. I bought bungs from Summit Racing for about a buck fifty each. Drilled a hole approx the bung size. Brought it up to a slip fit/press fit, with a rotary file. Welded with wire welder. Twernt purdy until I ground the weld down with Mikita grinder and did some more welding. About an hour job for me if you don't count removing/repacing the downpipe. Welding ain't me forte. Errr...works though. No leaks.

umm the RB downpipe already has a bung doesn't it? the 3" one does.
although it was too big for my greddy... so I just welded the threaded part of the egt into the hole.
I think it fits the autometer one
