Differential Removal Fears

I am afraid to take out my LSD. All this talk about the driveshaft being balanced and stuff....This is my situation. Im selling my rear-end and buying a TII one. Then selling my old driveshaft and getting a TII one. How do I balance the driveshaft if I cannot make proper markings on the u-joint flange and the pinion flange. Ahh someone help me!!

That's not neccesary. Take the driveshaft to a transmission shop... or a drivetrain shop (like diesel trucks)

I'm still confused. How big of an undertaking is removing the rear-end? This will be my first time.

It's not all too hard, can be done with two people in under 3 hours. It's not like you're going to kill yourself by bolting it all up and not having it balanced, the worse you're going to end up with is a vibration/wobble from the rear, just drive it to a shop and have them balance it for you.

If you get a TII driveshaft it should be balanced already. I have an extra one if you want and may have an extra rear end but I may keep that to put a KAAZ in it.

don't worry, it's easy. Just jack it up and put some jack stands in SAFE locations, and you're ready to go, take off the front subframe bolts (4 total) you should now be able to pull down the front of the subframe enough to get a long extension in there and remove the two bolts holding the front differential mount in place, unbolt those, then remove the two bolts on the ears of the differential and wham, it's out! Simple as all hell
