Welded Spider Gears??Ok???
I wanna do a fully locked rear end on my 7, I am gonna stick metal arc weld the spiders together. this will make it better for launches and slidin, any one who has done this or knos something bout it please post

yes it will work but... now imagine driving on the highway doin probly around 80 like we all do and the weld brakes, wheels lock up, and you go spinning now wouldnt you perfer to get lsd?

it is a dumb idea, get a LSD preferably a clutch type and you will be happy.
it is simple to do but as said it is also dangerous because welding steel and cast iron the welds will not be as solid as they should be and if it breaks it can lock up the differential and can cause total loss of control of the car.

not to mention it wont last long at all on the road.. in the dirt its cool (why off roaders do it) because it will turn and lessen the strain on the diff. but on asphalt, i wouldnt do it. it WILL break and it WILL be bad when it does.

great advice guys, I will take this info into consideration. maybe I will do an LSD swap. I have an abandoned doner car with good TII drivetrain, I will see if there is any way I can get my hands on it, thanks again guys
