yes it will work but... now imagine driving on the highway doin probly around 80 like we all do and the weld brakes, wheels lock up, and you go spinning now wouldnt you perfer to get lsd?

GodSquadMandrake 11-23-05 05:35 PM

I know a guy that did this on his dedicated race car and he hates it. It won't be fun to drive.

it is a dumb idea, get a LSD preferably a clutch type and you will be happy.

it is simple to do but as said it is also dangerous because welding steel and cast iron the welds will not be as solid as they should be and if it breaks it can lock up the differential and can cause total loss of control of the car.

BAD IDEA...wanna slide every turn you take from now on? it will feel terrible...

LUPE 11-23-05 07:15 PM

It's for race cars.......... not too bad though.

Race cars? How about rock crawlers and offroaders... I know a bunch of people with sweet air locker systems (flip a switch, lock your diff)

Chief 11-23-05 08:21 PM

not to mention it wont last long at all on the road.. in the dirt its cool (why off roaders do it) because it will turn and lessen the strain on the diff. but on asphalt, i wouldnt do it. it WILL break and it WILL be bad when it does.

great advice guys, I will take this info into consideration. maybe I will do an LSD swap. I have an abandoned doner car with good TII drivetrain, I will see if there is any way I can get my hands on it, thanks again guys
