Weird springy screw button in the middle of my console?

I have a small button(if you will) in the center console of my 1988 RX7 Convertible 10th anniversary edition. It looks like a screw of some sort, if I unscrew it then there is a spring between the screw that comes out and the threads. I don't know if it is a button or what, I can tighten it all the way and it still presses down and springs back up, or I can loosen it and it still presses in and out.

Is there anyone who can tell me what this is???

I wish I had that ability, unfortunately I don't, not for a few day's though. I figured someone else might have this same screw, button, spring whatever it is, and I was hoping someone knew what it was.

Certainly though when I get a chance I can post a photo.

I don't remember seeing anything like that. Was your car made into a convertible because there were no convertible 10th Anniversary models.

Yeah, take a picture if you can. It might be aftermarket.

Here are pictures, the first three, shows convertible, the steering wheel, the badge. Also VIN is JMIFC35I7J0I0475C could be wrong, had someone send me a picture, it is pretty faded-ish.

The last picture is the spring button thing...not sure what that is, the pen points to it.

it's nothing that is factory so it could be literally for anything, like oil jets or smokescreen or minigun under the headlights.

it is still their 10th anniversary year but it is not a selling point for the vert.

the official 10th anniversary RX7 had badges on it(your badge is in the wrong location and does not belong on that car), special insignia steering wheel, turbo, gold trim key, interior motion sensors for the alarm, headlight washer sprayers, to name a few things that all other models didn't have with the exception of being turbo. all 10th AE cars were also white with white turbo baloney slicer wheels and came in coupe model only.

don't be fooled into thinking you have a real 10thAE, it isn't.

Don't all verts have the head rest speaker switch? That looks almost like a GXL adjustable suspension switch?(the most forward switch obviously)

that is not a headrest switch, could very well be a panel from a GXL

find where the wires, get your answer. i was thinking it could be a NC fuel cut switch, but it's in a very weird spot and would be difficult to use while starting the car.

it would have been dealer installed, you have never heard of a dealer installed alarm system?
Like when they try to sell you undercoating, it aint in the original brochure but they try to sell it to you

correction, they are glass breakage sensors and as far as i know they were part of the AE package. there was one in the mirror, 1 in the center of the roof behind the sunroof and iirc one on each pillar behind the seats. they are rather small so you have to be looking for them.

I say it's the call pick-up button for the Bat phone. Or fires the passenger ejection seat. Although trigger for the mini-guns would be very cool.
