OK this just started like last week, i was driving with the windows down and i heard something echoing off the buildings as i was cruising sounded like a chain slipping on a gokart or somthing, it only does this while driving sometimes, and with the windows up it sounds like its coming from right under the shifter, i thought i might be the ujoints or something, i know the rod and pinion thing in the from is leaking power steering fluid but what do you think this is, i dosent do it on decel , only at like 3k during just slight accel... help me out i dont want to be stuck somewhere when something breaks, i cant feel anything just noise...

 

Does it do it with every gear? If so it might be the transmission man...I had the same problem once replaced the transmission and cluth. Everything will work just fine. GL

 

Exhaust leak. You can hear it like it's right under the shifter because that's the only play sound can easily access the cabin.

hard to say...I haven't hard many chains slip on go karts. liken it to something else...

 

Haha..I bet I know what it is.....I'm putting all my chips on it being a loose exhaust shield! I have the same thing going on in my car since I hollowed out the cat, the damn shield would not go on right. Just a guess!

If that's not it, it sounds like it is simply something rattling on another piece of metal.

 

it might be when i got my cat cut off they said there was a leak behind one of the shields and they bent it all up and pulled it make and left it that way its just kinda hanging, im getting a complete custom exhaust in a few weeks so, ill tell you if it still doing it then

 

Lets hope its the shield so you don't have to worry about buying a new transmission.
