weird exhaust sound + bad mileage

I just put in my jspec and ported the tb and removed the cold start, and also took out all of the emmisions and the twin scroll system. Now my car is getting about 10 mpg and is really loud and lopey sounding, the exhaust pulses almost sound like a v8! Am I running really rich? What should I be checking for? I already replaced both temp sensors on the filler neck with my old ones and there was no change in mpg, or sound

Check your leading spark plug wires, coil, and ignitor. When i forgot to plug my ignitor back in my car sounded really deep and throaty.

Also, just for the heck of it, make sure that you're running the right wires to the right spot.

I doubt that me posting is really helpiing, it was just a funny sound and I imagine horrible efficency w/ only 1 set of plugs.

all plugs are getting power, from the right place. But when I take off either of the trailing wires while running, there is no noticeable difference in idle. and also, if it goes below 900 rpm, it stutters really bad and shakes horribly. Idle is at 1000-1100 because of that. TPS and timing are dead on.

Something with ignition, the way it felt and idleing...something's fucked up there.

Edit: Hey, also check your vaccume with a gauge when you get back to school, figure out what your pulling.

If you smell or hear an exhaust leak, check the entire system. Did you remove the air pump and leave the cats?

When you say J-Spec, are you refering to a new(used) import engine? Have you done a compression check?

there are exhaust leaks (im too cheap for gaskets) but thats not the problem. its got 2.5 downpipe, 2" test pipe, and 2.5 catback with straight through cans. and it is a used engine, 100 front 110 rear

**** my idle is so weak that when I turn the wheels of my car it dies.... my idle jumps from 600rpms to 1500rpms (if it doesn't crap out first)
but I think I know my problems....needs new wires and maybe new groundings.... I am on that here soon

check ground and check for 12V at leading coil. it should be over 12V when the car is running.

also possible that you screwed something up with either the EGR or the twin scroll.
