Weird Electrical Car / Door Problem

Alright so basically i don't know what happens. I got in my car and nothing in my car would work and the stereo reset ( cd was ejected ). i open and closed the door and the power in the car went on again. car started right up.

Problem: The entire power in my car turns off unless i open and close my door, sometimes gotta open and close it enough for power to come back on. what would be the problem?

went outside to check all the fuses and junk and now i can't even get it started at all. the lights on the door are very dim and i can barely see the e-brake light on the idiot cluster and when i turn the key to start everything dies.

Time to charge your battery up. I think I ran into teh sam problem 12 times tonight while getting my GXL to run and move outta the garage. The battery is dead from all the startign attempts. Just charge it overnight and check with it in teh morning then try it again.

dead battery....for sure...

But....i'd imagine that you have a major power draw somewhere....

The only thing that comes to mind is the voltage regulator in the alt...but...i could be wrong...

well i just jump started my car and drove it around for about 30 mins. the check engine light came on once in a while but all i did was let go of the throttle and it would go away, but then it would come back some minutes later.

- i also noticed that the fuse for the headlights is 20a instead of 15a and the fuse for the 7.5a doesn't even have a number on it

well i replaced all the fuses in my fuse box and checked all the plugs and they all seem to be put into place except for this one plug that's just chilling there with dust inside it. all the things work in my car now, even the cigar lighter and dash clocked that never work, but i still get the check engine light under throttle sometimes and the dash clock goes out. hopefully when i start the car later this evening, everything will be ok.
