Weird Boost Levels

Okay, I just bought my 89 TII about 2 weeks ago. took a/c and p/s off and got HKS Intake and Blitz SS BOV. But, dead stock the car would boost a little over the 0 mark. But sometimes the guage will read almost max. this only happened a few times. and sometimes it barely reads 0 under WOT. Is it possible the guage is bad? the car didnt feel faster when the guage almost went max. Also, soemtimes it boosts to over 0 and then goes down quickly even though i'm WOT. Any ideas? Thanks

Ya, i would start with a after market gauge .. sounds like the stock one is sketchy .. and if you don't feel more power.. (or hear detonation ) it must be the gauge .. or at least thats a good start.

do you have a FCD? those will tweak out a stock gauge also.

No FCD yet... So, the stock boost guage use a sensor? or it just goes straight to vacume? i guess i will look for aftermarket guage. thanks
