I've thought about doing the manual swap also. But only because of the tendancy for power window switches to fail and because my driver door is a little wavy. It would be neat to weigh both doors. And then do it again with the door panels off. I've always thought about how just a big sheet of carbon fiber would look there too with the stock door handles screwed into it.

No weight savings.

The counterweight for the manual window weighs as much as the motor does on a power window.

And if the power lock motor weighed 1 lbs I'd be surprised.

Good call Icemark. Can we take the counterweight off??? I'm gonna do it in the future anyway just to get a good set of doors.

if it is a track car, why do you even need anything but a hunk of lexan. Who cares if it rolls down on a track car.

Just be sure to mount the drivers window with either lexan brackets or something similar that can be broken to allow the window to be pushed out of the wayin the event of a crash. You don't wanna get trapped in that baby if the door is jammed shut.

But yeah, if this a track car - slice and dice it until you need softer suspension to get a decent ride height

Good point... something that might be 2nd nature to me or you might be completely over looked by many other members of the board.

its still my daily driver for now and i stripped the ac and everything...so i still need the windows to roll up and down for awhile. but i dont care about creature comforts so much as performance...im still young so driving loud uncomfy cars daily is second nature to me. i mean my truck has jaz plastic buckets, 4 pt harnesses, bedliner interior and no doors.
