weight question

87 sport...basically a rolling and steering shell. No engine, tranny, ECU/wiring, engine bay omponents, gas tank, fuel system, etc...you get the idea. All she is is a clean set of body panels, a complete interior, and that's about it.

How much about would she weight? I know she weighed 2400 when I parked her (completely dry)...and the long-block weight approx 350lbs, and the tranny weighed 115, gas tank weighed 50....that's at least a 1900lb car. What do you guys think? She has no power accessories.

I'll post my project if you can keep the flames to a minimum...

With the interior still in it it's hard to say. I would guess around 1500lbs too.
I think it you take the glass out and remove the interior you can get it closer to 1000lbs.
There is A LOT of wiring in the car too. I guessed the harness to weigh more than 50lbs.

I haven't weighed it yet. I have some "friends" with a nice set of race car scales, but they want me to "rent" them for $50. That's not in my "budget" right now. " "
It's pretty gutted though, it should be towards the 1000 lbs end of the spectrum. My final racing weigh needs to be 1900lbs wet.

Well seeing as of right now it has no drive train, electrical system, brakes,... or even wheels for that matter, how do you propose I get it there? No truck or trailer either, BTW.
Besides I want something accurate if I'm going to go to all the effort.
