Unhappy Weight, holy ****

OMFG i just read my factory manual for the first time...

it says non-turbo RX-& has a curb weight of : 3600+ LBS!!!!!

Is that a typo b/c the reason i got the rx7 to begin with was because i heard it had great balance of weight and power. I should of just got a 240sx maybe, they weight like 2800+ lbs.

1988 GXL (5 spd) manual by the way.

No FC was that weight. That is likely the maxumum "loaded" weight of the car.

the only FC with weight over 3000 is convertibles (or FCs with a few subs and a fat passenger). your car should also be in the neighborhood of 2800.
goto www.mazdamark.com

curb weight: 2720, turbo: 2850, convertible: 3003

lol, sorry, didnt meanto give any one a heart attack.

the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is 3625 lbs. i assume thats the total maximum weight that the car should have at any given time.

89 Turbo: 2987; 90 Turbo: 298X (7?); 91 Turbo: 2987

the "90's" is smudged, but i assume all three are said to be the same. i dont get how its a "pig" when its only 137 pounds heavier (S4: 2850; S5: 2987). over by 5 or under by 13? i think you need the diet, Santi !

in comparison to what? its 2800 on the chart. same as same-year GTU supposedly. had an aluminum hood and less options.

I believe you're looking at the "curb"(?) weight rating, which includes full tank of gas, all fluids topped off to spec, full cargo capacity (150 lbs.?), and a driver and passenger (both rated at 150lbs. I believe?).
