weatherstrip for vert..anyone?

Ok I've looked in the archives, called the dealer, hell even the wrecking yard and looked on the net. Does ANYONE make the weatherstrip that seals up between the driver window & the convertable top? Any help is appreciated as rain is slowly leaking down to the power window switches on the driver side due to the lack of a seal at the top. I'll even buy from Japan if that's what it takes....Right now my only option is to buy the whole top if I want that small peice!!! Thank you in advance!!

Icemark,

Many thanks. As it is there's a storm coming tonight & I'm having to put black electrical tape between the foam gasket & the window to keep the rain out. I'll try to go on that information for now. Again, my thanks for your help.

Ah man, I had this problem too. But I am too cheep to buy the two $57 trim peices needed to replace the ailing ones. So I took the targa part off, pulled it apart enough to get to the inside of the seals, then soaked some paper towels in silicone and used a flathead to cram the paper towels (through the holes in the back of the trim) into the air cavity. The trim got a lot fatter and I didnt pack it in too tight so the doors still close tight, and nothing leaks now.

Thats my ghetto fix for the day.

weatherstrip update...

An update on the weatherstrip. I ordered them through VictoriaBritish on the 28th and they just arrived here in Sacramento, Ca today. Good packaging. So Seven days and some $100+ later I had them installed w/in 30 min. I got lucky in that there was no cleaning involved. The old seals came off cleanly even the old "tar" came off cleanly. So all in all a good turnaround time. Thank you all again!!

what is the diff between the s4 ~ s5 vert weather strips
, especially for the t-top.
I remember reading that s5 is better designed to prevent water leakage.
Can someone pls explain, and also will s5 vert ones fit s4 vert?
TIA

color only

The S5 Targa section did have two channels in the top of the Targa for reduced water running in when the door is opened, but that was part of the top, not the weather stripping.

As far as the weather stripping it is all the same other than color (no gray for S5)
