Wear pattern on Rotor?
Anyone ever seen a wear pattern like this?
Note where the red circles are......................
E shaft got a little hott........ the person said they blew a coolant seal.
What they did not say is that they drove it for weeks after.

to the eye, the irons look good with no strange wear marks. When I cracked the motor the oil control rings were loose and not seated into the rotor like all the other motors I have cracked.
As for the temp of the coolant, not sure. This was another persons motor.
I just wanted to post those pics because I have never seen the rotor wear like that.

That engine has been severely overheated, ran low on oil, and overrevved.
The housings may be usable. That's about it. The irons may be saved by lapping if they aren't too bad.

The pic of the e-shaft bearing journal is what happens when oil breaks down and stops lubricating.
The pic of the rotor with the side seals disappearing into the middle is a sign of overreving and the rotor slapping against the side housings, and / or oil breaking down / lack of lubrication.
Yes, it's basically an abused motor.
