Hell Im sure it would be a blast though, I get a mad kick out of scenic drives and such. I could just imagine all of the RX-7s in one spot, kicking ***.

So you pay the registration fee, and you are free to do all the drag racing and auto-crossing you want? Or is that extra?

Yes...No...

Yes, pay the registration fee and on Saturday you will drag race and autocross until you are blue in the face. No, it is not extra.

The extras are the road racing, tuning and mobile dyno.

Come on now... Atkins drove in from WA, and Kan is coming from Dallas. Even had a guy in from Tampa last year, and we are already giving Pettit a hard time about coming up from SE Florida.

Ship car to SF, then drive to Tampa.
If delayed will stop on the way, or drive from St. Pete.

While I would love to show a few nay-sayers exactly what a turbocharged NA engine will do, it really looks like I will be bringing the Insight. After doing this much work on a car, I just can't trust it to drive 1200 KM into a foreign country without some local "shakedown" runs to prove it can be reliable. This is unfortunate, because the dyno would be a perfect place to do some "quick" tuning on the Microtech.

Ah well, I'll just stick a big rotor decal on the hood of the Insight, get it teched for the drag strip, and pretend it's an RX-7.

Is that some strange way of saying you don't want to drive 745 miles?

Thats easy for you to say, you dont have to drive far, and you can call a tow truck to take you home if you break.

not to mention getting it across the boarder, and that would be a HUGE AAA tow bill

It takes me quite a long time to put a car back together, especially when I keep having my weekends taken up working on everyone's RX-7 but mine. Seriously, it's been one major delay after another. I've stopped worrying about it though...It will get done when it gets done.

The major problem is that if something goes wrong, getting a two from Indianapolis to London is NOT going to be cheap. Probably close to $1000. Next year I'll bring Tina. This year, the Insight (which doesn't yet have a cute name).

As for the Ontario people all heading down, I'm personally not into it...I intend to stop in Michigan before heading to Indy. Besides, it will cost me more to pay for a bus then it would to put gas into the Insight (From London to Indy and back is less then 1 tank of gas).

I heard the 1/4 mile timers won't register anything over 60 seconds...

My best 1/4 time in the Insight is about 17.5. That's going to be siginficantly faster then several of the FCs if last year is any indication (you know who you are).

But I should mention that it was 17.5 @ about 80MPH @ 72 MPG. Beat that.

If I get my 88TII back together and the Haltech dialed in, I'm going to try and make it from York, PA... However, I think that might be cutting it a bit close being that i still have to scarf up about 1600 bucks for a new clutch, Flywheel, and FMIC.......!!!
