Water weter? Search to workie...

I tried to search but its still not working. I'm wondering if anyone else has herd of this or if anyone has tried it. I have a few of my buddies that use it in the cars and there bikes and it works. But I'm curious if it will not work in a rotary and be a problem like synthetic oil. If anyone has used it or is using it in the rotary please give me some feedback.

There is nothing about the rotary cooling system that would preclude using Water Wetter if you choose to.
When I roadraced bikes we used it because regular antifreeze wasn't allowed- too slippery in case of a spill- and it was fine.

Never had need to try it in my RX since regular antifreeze seems to be OK.

Well it advertises 15-20 i believe, but I would guess it really depends on how much you add to this system. You dont completly replace it I think theres a ratio on what to add. Dont flame I dont know much about it I've only asked a few q's to they guys I know that used it. But everyone of them said they notice the difference in there gauges.

I thought it worked by compressing the molecules of the coolant or sothing so that it gets better effiecency of somother. I know that in the case with synthetic oil it gets to places it shouldnt be. But thanks guy I'll look more into it. I'm just lookign to get a bit cooler on the highway. Possibly getting a koyo raditor regardless of the out come.

Ok soo here's the low down.. It was tested on a 93 miata with a 0 to 400 auto meter temp guage on the rad and 0 to 250 at the cylinder head. It was tested under 3 conditions 1 idle 2 mixed terrain road driving 3 sustained driving.

So here's the test

Test 1 idle
Antifreeze and water..
Max coolant temp
221
Min coolant temp
185
Max cyl. Head temp
203
Min cyl. Head temp
200
Water wetter -3 degrees @ cylinder head. 0 degrees coolant temp

Now the same test with water wetter

Max coolant temp
220
Min coolant temp
185
Max coolant temp
198
Min coolant temp
195

Test 2 driving
Water and antifreeze

Max coolant temp
163
Min coolant temp
145
Mean coolant
156
Max head temp
183
Min head temp
171
Mean head temp
172

Water wetter test

Max coolant
152
Min coolant
135
Mean coolant
145
Max head
172
Min head
169
Mean head
170

Water wetter -5 degrees cylinder head temp. 10 degrees coolant temp

Test 3 sustained drriving

Antifreeze and water

Mean coolant
160
Mean head
172

Water wetter
Mean coolant
147
Mean head
166

Water wetter -13 degrees coolant temp and -6 degrees cylinder head temp drop.

In conlusion the test proved 13 degrees cooler

Hope this helps you make a descion.

Since you live in Florida as do I..

I have used Water Wetter for over 10 yrs now. One thing I was told to do and have since I started using it is this.. do not use Antifreeze with the water wetter. Just plain water with it added works the best and plain water also helps with bringing down higher coolant temps faster. I have also noticed after 2 or 3 yrs or replacing the coolant with a new dose of water wetter, I find my mian temps overall stay lower, and when they rise from driving hard they dropped much faster..my .02 cents.

You do not need to use antifreeze in Florida,,water wetter will stop any corrosion from happening...its also seems to stop any corrosion that has already started

Yeah, it'll help a little. It helps more if there's more water in the system but the thing with pure water is you also lower the boiling temperature so your chances of an overheat are just as high if not higher. I wouldn't go below 30% antifreeze. Below that is still do-able if you have corrosion protection, just probably not ideal.

The water wetter bottle says to change coolant annually to maintain the corrosion protection. 12-18 months is a good idea in general on a rotary since cooling system problems are the most common cause of engine failure. Replace the thermostat with an OEM one at the same time. Check other cooling components from time to time.

i have no idea where this was tested at this was in an issue of import tuner august of 2008

with water wetter u just use water no anti freeze?

werd

everyone ive spoken to drains their whole system, ddumps the entire bottle in there and then fills the rest with water
