Water thermo sensor wire?

I figured out whats worng with my car, its the wire for the thermo sensor on the back of the water pump housing. I know its damaged because I can make it sputter and stop by wiggling the wire. Now here's my new problem to replace the wire do I have to take off the uim? or is there another way?

you have to take off the uim...it's the only way. problem is, through continous alternator removals hitting the plug it loosens it, you no longer have to get a pic to remove it. summit has new ones fwiw.

The harness is the same as an injector. If you're going to do it, buy an injector harness and splice into the old wires (solder/heat shrink). The tab might be different from the old one but that's a very minor issue. Just sand down the tab. The harness in held on by a clip.

You don't have to remove the UIM. You could run new wires all the way back to the ECU.

Removing the UIM is not necessary. Just remove the alternator.
