Water Thermo Sensor

88 GXL N/A

I'm getting error code 3 "Water Thermo Sensor"
Would the sensor being bad cause the car not to run.
If so, is there a temporary work around?? Thanks.

If that error code pulls up, it is one of two things.

1) The wire running to the sensor snapped. (Check this first)
2) The sensor is bad.

I noticed in your other thread, you indicated that the harnesss was "hacked up". Odds are, I would say that a wire is snapped. Check your connections.

Well i checked the voltage between the two connections, and i was getting a ~5 volt reading. I did that because i didn't have time to remove the sensor. Hopefully today if the weather stays good i'll test the sensor.

Thx.

My car wouldn't even run when I attempted to see If It would or wouldn't run when I disconnected the Plug at the Water Temp Sensor.
