'88 NA: How to best re-work the 5th and 6th ports?

I went to a Bonez race pipe on my '88 NA and therefore lost my 5th and 6th ports. I'd like to get rid of the airpump too. Is there an easy way to get them activated again? It's hard to pick through the many opinions about on board compressors, or air pump mods. Will removing the air pump reduce a lot of engine load? The car is autocross only, not street legal, but I still need good low end torque for powering out of turns. Is it worth removing the air pump if getting the 5th and 6th ports to work means buying a compressor and RPM switch? I'd like to do this as close to free as possible. Thanks!

Doesn't the pipe have a bung-hole for picking up the back-pressure and opening the ports? I know mine does, and (with a stock exhaust) the ports still work.
Otherwise, ya have a range of options. Search, but you can either keep the air pump and use a pressure pick up down by the ACV, or you can use a solenoid that opens a valve off an (aftermarket, electric) air pump at a given rpm to actuate.

wait, do you have a S4 or S5.. 88=S4.. you can remove the air pump and not have any trouble with your aux ports

As far as i can remember the Bonez race pipe comes with a small nipple to connect your 5th and 6th port to.. the hose normally goes down to your cat converters... hook it into your race pipe

If you have a S5, you have to retain your airpump, because otherwise your aux ports will not open..

S4, but the racepipe has no nipple. I removed the whole tube from the cat to the aux ports. Is it easy to run the ports from the air pump?

Looking to have them open with an electric method? Check this bulletproof setup that has worked for me for along while now. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ighlight=blown

Thanks. I was looking at that, but it seems like it would cost quite a bit.
