water temp sensor wires

i searched and couldn't find the answer to my question but my car wont hot start and i looked and the sensor on the back if the water pump got the wires pulled right out of the "clip thingy", since i have to take the intakes off to put them in right i only want to do this once so...

...does any one know which wire goes on which side???

It shouldn't matter which way you reattach the wires. The sensor will work off of resistance changes as water temperature changes, so all you really need is the circuit to be completed.

if that was not an issue then what else could be causing my hot start problems??
