Water Temp Sender between TB and WP, only seeing 150F

I teed in an electric water temp sender between the throttle body hose and the hose coming from the water pump. I don't know why I'm only seeing 150 on the gauge. I tried both autometer and a cheap equus and they both are giving the same reading. Any ideas why?

How much of the sensor bulb is in direct water flow and how much is shrouded by your adapter/fitting?

does it really matter? if the system is pressurized, shouldn't the water reach the sender side of the t-adapter anyway? to answer your question though, the probe is about halfway to the passage line.

Yes, it matters.
You want the entire bulb exposed to coolant flow.

That's not a great place to put your sender. The flow is quite restricted, bubbles will accumulate and the coolant probably loses some temperature on the way.

Tap the water pump housing, as described in the water temp sensor threads linked to in the FAQ. You can tap the area near the CAS where the alternator mounts. You don't even have to remove it from the car. Just pull the alternator, drill and tap.

Thanks. Actually that's how I did on my previous car and works fine. I was out of the forum for 5 years, came back with a new car and people are now saying that the TB line is the best place to t-in the sender because the water pump side doesn't get enough coolant flow before the thermostat opens. I only did it because it seems simpler than tapping in the water pump.
