water pump, alternator, and smoke

Alright guys... I had my water pump changed at a Mazda dealer here. When I got the car back, all the idiot lights were on (found to be a low voltage signal from a bad alternator). They told me I somehow got coolant on the alternator and wouldn't take responsibility, but after much argument, they decided that if I got an alternator myself and installed it, they'd pay for it.
I found an alternator... of course it took a while to get here, and while I waited for it, the car was leaking coolant (a good bit too). so I started it up after changing the alternator... runs rough and smokes like hell. I figured it was just the coolant burning off, but it pissed me off enough to take it back to the dealer that fixed it so they could see what was wrong with it.

So now I'm sitting around 7-less and need a ride home for thanksgiving. I'm pissed as hell and want to break one of their Mazda tech's legs. So should I just let them do their thing and see what's wrong, or should I argue and mention the word "lawsuit" if they don't want to fix it? I've had too much of this **** now, and I'm about ready to sell the 7 that I put so much money into. What do you guys think?

The First Rule Of Rotary Club Is:
You do NOT take your car to the dealer!

The Second Rule Of Rotary Club Is:
You DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE DEALER!

The mazda mechanics know zip about the rotary! Thereaten lawsuit, but don't expect them to shiver too much! Next time, find a good rotary shop near home. Mazda mechanics are still piston mechanics...Also, did you get their promise of repaying you for the alternator in writing?

my guess is it's leaking between the water pump housing and front cover. no one ever changes that seal when the water pump is off. they should as the seal is broken loose when the pump is removed.

The First Rule Of Rotary Club Is:
I was at school with no tools and no idea who worked on Rx7's. I was told that Jim was "the only person who I let touch my Rx7" so I took it to him at Rider Auto, which I didn't even know was a dealer till I got there.

did you get their promise of repaying you for the alternator in writing?
I have a business card with everything written on it

no one ever changes that seal when the water pump is off
I was told that the seal was changed, but of course I have no way to check.

So basically I'm still screwed in the *** with no car. I can't afford the repairs for this car. Rx7's are fun, and rotaries are amazing, but a TII is NOT a daily driver, so I'm definately debating selling the heap of **** and buying a Supra
