Water Injection Pros

Almost done installing my DIY WI setup and I was thinking -- wouldn't the lowered intake temps bring the overall engine temps down making it much easier on the cooling system at high boost?

I am not sure if it will lower coolant temps. However, I can email you an old NACA paper from the 30's that talks about what you are takling about. However, it is for a piston engine. Never the less I think it would apply.

on a similar note.. I have tech spec's from old WWII airplanes using water injection in conjunction with supercharging (yes folks, its been around a while), the Water injection is not going to make any noticable difference in water temp. there may be a slight difference in cylinder (housing) temperature, which is what its designed to do, reduce the chance of detonation by cooling the cylinder walls to prevent hotspots and therefore multi-point combustion (ie., pinging, detonation, etc.) but its not enough to reduce the overall engine temperature.
