wastegate downpipes to atmosphere, Safe?
Hey all,
Im putting dual tial 44s on my S4 FC. I was going to dump the wastegates to atmosphere, back behind the firewall. I guess I have a new found concern about lighting the car on fire. Lets say I have an oil leak or the trans is leaking, is there a genuine concern for how it is dumped? I would normally route back into the downpipe, but an crunched for time.

Yes, definitely a concern. Route it out of the car. Also a bad idea to dump hot exhaust onto the trans.

usually you'd see that with a little dump pipe on it

FDs shoot flames if you don't cut fuel and only cut spark. This isn't unusual for tuning a rotary. Either way it will be hot.
Nothing bad will happen with it routed outside the bay. Bad things might happen without. Only you can make the call here.
