Warning light control not showing time!

I about 1 month after i bought my car, my clock went out on my warning light cluster. I left it for almost a year untill i finally started restoring my car. I just recieved a brand new warning light assembly yesterday, installed it, and the damn clock still didn't work!

The Lady that sold me the warning light got it with her 7. The previous owner bought it for the purpose of diagnosing why the assembly did not work. he traced the problem to a "little Black box"
I have no idea what she was talking about. and no idea how to fix it

Please help!

if you just got a brand new one and it is the correct one for your car (there are about 15 different ones), and it still does not work, then you probably have a blown fuse.

Do the dome lights work, how about the radio???

BTW: I sell rebuilt ones on my website with twice the warrenty of Mazda and 1/4 of the price

I have been to your website. But i already have two that i am pretty sure work perfectly. however i do not know if the dome lights work or not, I also do not have a radio or stereo surround. (broken and stolen)
The new cluster is not from my car, it slopes toward the driver at the top.
the origonal slopes toward the driver at the bottom. other than that they are identical. All other warning lights work fine, only the clock is off.

& yes I still have the recipt from the Mazda dealership.

Do you know where the fuse for the clock is? The haynes manual dosn't really cover this aspect.

A pic would be awsome, but a discription or diagram would do.

Its for the dome light...and I think your door lights also if you have them. Im pretty sure the clock is tied into it also...just cant remember.

Yall need to go here

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/faq-fc-frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-a-181219/

and download the FSM for you year. It has all the wiring diagrams and schematics for our cars. It's like the 4th FAQ in the list.

ok here's a question for the experts...my clock won't keep the set time (dome light fuse right?) but then if i try to flip the map light switch the door open light and the clock go out, if i switch it back the clock and the door open light go back on. My dome light doesnt work at all. Map lights don't work either.

I bet you broke all the cold solder joints plugging the unit in.
Even brand new, it's a piece of ****.
I would resolder the whole damn thing even if it was brand new.

ICEMARK

you have taught me so much through your threads and replys!

"The Room fuse on the drivers kick panel."

kinda makes me feel like an idiot when i get an answer like this...
But hey at least i don't have to take out my dash to fix my clock.

The other bright side is I have a shiney new idiot box, and a back up I can give to someone in need!
