rear windshield mirror got un-stuck, how to fix?

the part that connects the rearview mirror to the windshield in my FC (a rubber stick of some sorts) got really heated on a hot day and just detached from the windshield glass.

therefore, there is nothing holding it still, so its constantly shaking while im driving.

is there a type of substance that i can put ontu the back of this rubber piece that will make it stick back to the windshield glass? i was thinking about super glue, but it might melt also.

suggestions?

That rubber thing is supposed to be glued on? From what I've seen, It's just wedged in there. Hell, I don't think my current '7 even has one (I shimmed the mirror up top by the pop rivets to keep it from shaking)
