Want to upgrade from stock exhaust.
Hey guys i've got an 88 vert with the stock exhaust. N/A power.
What im wondering is, what do i need to do to get more power out of the exhaust, and also to make it a little louder. Can I just get new mufflers?(I want to keep the two mufflers rather than have a single) or do I need to get a whole new exhaust.

Since you have an S4 you need to keep the airpump and connection in order to activate your 5/6 ports.
I have a racing beat exhaust and I love it. Quiet as stock down low with enough growl up high to hear it. I need emissions so I went to a Bonez High Flow Cat from rx7.com (all three of my cats were leaking).
If you want a lot of power and very loud you can go true dual.
since you have an s4 rx7 like me you really cant open the exhaust up too much.. if you do your ports wont open up and you'll loose top end... a simple cat back would work though... if you likes it loud corksport and apexi N1 single... clean sounding would always be a Racing beat exhaust
If you want cheap and louder, you can get the pacesetter header, and the ssautochrome exhaust. From what I hear the presilencer will bolt up to the header, then you can use your airpump to activate your auxiliary ports.
If you want to stay dual, and be cheap, you'd probably want to get a header, and replace your main cat with a straight pipe. Then keep the stock catback.
Either way it'll be louder and have more power, especially moving away from a stock cat.

Or that would replace all 3 cats, and be cheap, but you'd still have the crappy stock manifold.

Okay then, I dont want to mess with the ports not opening, maybe ill just get two new mufflers then and just leave it at that so it looks a little nicer.
