Want to powder coat my intercooler piping ... help me choose a color

I'm leaning towards a black chrome finish on the piping ... the ones that are mirror reflective and kind of has a dark blue/purplish hue at certain angles (like black pearl).

I'm also leaning towards a Orange/Copper color.

I will be polishing the end tanks of the intercooler, polishing the manifold, front-plate, and some other pieces.

Heres the car ... a picture of how the piping will be run (picture of my old cars engine bay) ... and heres the color for the piping.

black. I'd go a step further and do WRINKLE black, like Batman's old FD ( i think he sold it already, not sure). When you get pulled over they won't find the shiny stuff.

depends on the cops in your area too. All the riceboys have shiny things all over and if the cop is ADD prone, like me, he'll be: "ooooooh, what's that shiny thing??"

my guy can only do candy black over a polished surface, done over anything else it does not work.
its translucent so it basically a clear with a little black in it- only works for shiny stuff.

The only thing that would match the engine bay would be black or chrome. If you go with another colour, you have to commit to that colour and paint the rest of the engine bay to match. In my opinion, there's nothing more ugly then a stock looking engine with a few brightly coloured random parts.

Candy black and candy orange are the hardest powdercoat colors to do. The candy is actually a base coat of either silver, silver metallic or chrome, with another coat of thin translucent pigment over top. The color coat is so thin that it likes to run, almost like you are spraying water. So you spray just enough to coat the base coat, but then the color comes out dull and lighter than it should be (gray or yellow). Spray more coats to get the color right, and it starts to run and puddle.

Candy red and blue, green etc. are much easier to spray and have look good.

Black chrome is not candy black. Black chrome is single stage and easy to get good results. It looks like a gunmetal in reality.

Wrinkle black is really easy to spray and get great results out of. It also hides lots of casting imperfections in the parts. Since it is not glossy finish it does not show a lot of dirt or water spots when you wash it off.

Here are pics of some work I have done. IF any of you have questions or would like to get work done please ask.
