want more power for t2

i have an 87 turbo 2 with straight threw exhaust, wires, fuel cut, and intake. but my boost is still the same about .36 bar. i want to bring that up. any good chips out there to bring up boost? something that wont bring too much harm to the engine. i would like to boost it to about .5 - .8 bar. let me know any help appreciated

I'm surprised you're only boost 0.36bar with a straight exhaust...and intake.

your turbo is probably shot.... you should be creeping to 0.7-1 bar with full exhuast / intake.

you don't wana run more then .55 (8psi) on the stock fuel system... you need atleast a bigger fuel pump for higher.

the way to raise boost is with a boost controller...

what gauge are you reading this off? were is it taped?

i am reading it off the stock guage. but i can tell it is no more than about .35 bar. my car is smoking more than usuall and i thought it could have been the turbo. how much is a rebuild kit or a new one? also what is a good boost controller to go with.

there is one aftermarket TID that i know of... but its outrageously priced. do a search on the TID mod, there should be tons of how-to's. i would STRONGLY ADVISE that you use metal, and not any kind of plastic though. one other thing. the stock gauge is worthless. it's not a gauge, its a guess-o-meter. my stock gauge is showing about 0.3bar when my greddy boost gauge shows 0.55

the stock gauge no longer works with a FCD! stay off the gas untill you get a real boost gauge!!!!!!!!!

whoa, yes. for your cars sake, get an aftermarket boost guage ASAP!!!. the FCD tells the computer its seeing less boost then it really is, which in turn is telling your boost guage the wrong boost pressure.

no.. I don't even know if you can.. just buy an aftermarket boost gauge to add.

FCD is fuel cut controller which you said you had.

no just don't floor it... you wouldn't be able to floor it without the FCD anyways.

if it still runs... then no probbaly not. but you can rist blowing it up. first you need to figure out what boost you are running, they you can add fuel to compensate. I would order a bigger fuel pump up though.. you will want one for sure.

do not let it go over 10psi while "testing" !! if it does you will probably have to restrict the airflow somehow... stock air box, cat etc.
