Walbro help
Just kind of confused... on the stock pump there are 3 wires and on the walbro I have 2 a red and black.... what do I do now...
assembly is out .... walbro is mounted i guess, just stuck on the wiring.

i did mine with no problems, can't remember how the wiring was, sorry. ya, don't just wrap wires around stuff. there is no doubt that a spark is immenent followed by a boom. leave all the explosions to the motor.
one wire is probably to the fuel level sender. you are gonna have to find out which one it is
or maybe two are the fuel level sender and you ground the pump to the bracket. and the red is obviously the power wire.

I just did mine over the weekend. Look at the old pump and it will say positive and negative and one extra ground going to the negative I believe. If you already cut the wires just match them up in length and you should be able to figure out which one is the extra ground. I just did the twist and tape method but taped it very very well.
Ok so I guess I figured my wiring problem... I hope. I put black wire from walbro to where black wire was previously and same for the red except, there was an existing wire there I just attached onto as well. THe thired "gold/copper" wire I didnt even touch.
I put it all back in and now my car won't start...
I think it may be flooded from the fuel that was in the lines after I took the pump out. THe fuel just somehow made it into the engine...
now to refresh my memory... which plug(s) do I pull and which fuse(s). I know the EGI but the comp or inj or both.

dude, go out and buy a 20$ soldering iron...they're cheap and easy as hell to use and will save you a ton of headaches later on. Cars are exposed to rain, snow, dirt, extreme heat and cold and a all kinds of vibrations, all of which arn't too friendly to electrical connections. A good solder joint covered in heat shrink (a hair dryer works fine). Trust me, you'll be thankfull later.

Red goes on that fitting on the right and put a bolt over it. The black one is grounded to the side of the metal piece.

With what I have now... nothing is grounded to the metal piece.
Damn, the server is being *** slow! Anyways, let me know how it goes. You can borrow my soldering iron if you want but make sure there is not a drop of fuel on the assembly.
Oh yeah, I doubt you flooded but I'm not too sure. Did you hear the fuel pump go on when you turn the key on the "On" position? The Walbro's are pretty loud.

It should be pretty loud mine is. I noticed it immediately. High pitched whirring sound. Did you remember to plug it in? I know it sounds stupid but I almost put the cover back on before plugging it in.

Yea thats the plug it goes through and under the metal plate and plugs into the top of the fuel pump if I remember correctly. Where is your black wire going? Looks like you totally got rid of the original wiring. What I did was cut and splice into the original wires. I think the black wire goes to the negative and the original 2nd ground splices together and the red goes to the positive.
THe black wire went to the side of the metal piece...
Yes I got rid of the original... should I have kept it ?
what can i do now.... I dont really understand what your saying about splcing.. your gonna have to talk to me like im a 10 yr old.
