Walbro Acting Up?
Walbro Acting Up?
ok well,
my car wont idle lately...SO...i went to my mechanic just to see what he thought...he said it smelled rich...i already knew that...so he squeezed my gas right after the filter, and the idle smoothed right out. could my walbro be acting up? should i swap the stock pump back in?
and i just realized that i used regular 16 gauge wire when i put the new one in...not special wire thats made to sit in gas....could that be a problem?

This thread is rather confusing. To begin, rich implies too much fuel. Clamping the feed line smoothes it out because it restricts flow, and thus gives less fuel. Voltage drop or faulty grounding at the pump would cause it to pump less, giving less fuel, which would result in a lean condition. I'm not sure why you would think there's a wiring issue then when it's giving too much fuel.

BAC is as closed as it will get, TPS is correct, all new VAC lines, just replaced injectors with 720cc's and ECU with Rtek 1.7...ill try throwing the old pump back in and see what happens...if that works then i can assume my Walbro is overloading the stock FPR.
