Wacken' off those Catts

I own an 87 rx-7 and I'm looking for ways to increase the horsepower without spending a lot of money. The other day I was talking to a friend who also owns an rx-7 of the same year. He told me to take my catalytic converters out to increase your overall hp.

Is this a good Idea?

What are the Cons to doing this?

How much hp will it add? (I already have a hks exhaust)

Does anyone else know cheap ways to boost hp?

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR ADVICE!

i had my off for a bit....
but it smells tooooo bad..
i had to put it back on.
i dont' know how many hp you will gain from getting it off, but it is very noticable power gain by having it off.
just get a high flow cat, that will make you car a bit faster without making everything smell bad.

cheap way to make you car go faster are intake and exhaust. if you know how to port your intake that will make it fast too.

You want to know how to port your intake manifold? Ok, go to the 2G Forum, and look at the sticky post: " Porting Intake Manifolds - HOW TO and REACTIONS"

in my opinion. Doesn't smell bad at all! it just fumes, there is a difference. But those cats are like runnin around with a straw in your mouth and trying to breath
