vlsd? drifting?
how effective is viscous lsd diff. for drifting...... i installed a vlsd assembly into fc. and i want to try it for drifting....... how effective is the torsen helical lsd if it is to be installed........ need some opinions....thnx
its slightly better than the open diff.
If you really want a good drift diff take your old open diff (if you still have it) and have it spooled, just make sure you find somebody who really knows how to do it(prolly somebody who knows a good amount about 4x4's could do it for you) . that will be MUCH better than the VLSD its an instant 1way lsd

do not get your differential spooled. a spool is good for straight traction, but terrible in corners. a clutch type is much better for drifting, but your will probably work. the stock rx-7 lsd actually isnt that bad. it doesnt compare to a nice 2-way clutch type though.
spool isnt bad. the only bad thing about it is, you burn through tires a lot faster. and you get more wear on your half shafts. Other than that, spool is pretty good for drifting. always locked.. breaks traction super easy. and if its done right it hold up for a long time.
but, for the record... i have a S4 LSD, and it does alright..
