Very slow start - strong gas smell - intermittent
Recently developed a problem where sometimes the car will start VERY slowly when cold and gives off a strong smell of gas out the pipes. There's also condensate coming from the pipes longer than it normally does. (does not smell like gas) It fires strong, quick at starting rpm (350?) then slowly climbs to idle; It seems like it moves in 50rpm increments every second.
My initial thoughts were a leaky / stuck injector or a coil pack gone bad. Then I started thinking thermowax. I fiddled around under the hood today but really can't get to it until the weekend.
Compression is strong, temp / oil pressure fine, engine revs normally, driving power is the same. Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. ~rich
