I had this happen to an 88 vert. I was the air mix motor which is on the driver side of the heater core. According to Icemark, when these go bad they usually take out the logicon also. I had an extra logicon so when I got another air mix motor I also swapped in the logicon and now the heat works great. You can test yours by finding the air mix motor and watching to see if the linkages move as you slide the temp control from cold to hot and back. If it does not move it is a pretty good bet that you have found your problem.

hope this helps.

I have the same problem as you Michelob. I flush the coolant, change the thermostat and other stuff, still couldn't fix it, so i took it to the shop weeks ago and they fixed it for $75 bucks, cheap. problem: THe heater control unit was defective, the hot and cold switch was bad which led the valve to the heater core to stay closed, so no heat was blown into the inside.
