Very quick TPS question....

When your car is at idle, can you push your TPS sensors back any further? Just wondering, because I still get a CEL when I decelerate. I can still push my sensors back about 1/4" into the housing.

They're made to push back into the housing...Unless I'm not reading it right in which case you need to explain a little better.

Yes. there is a TEST in the FSM where the car is idling and they have you, with your finger, depress the TPS and look for the results given in the FSM. Fuel section. Series four at least.

This is with a fully hot engine and a properly set TPS.

I know they are made to be pushed back into the housing, but are they supposed to be completely in the housing when the car is at idle? when my car is idling, I can push the one closest to the front of the car in about a1/4" more, the other one is already there.

Oh yeah, it's a S5 motor...
