Question Vert's need a little slim fast

Anyone that owns a Vert knows shes a pig when it comes to weight. While putting on the Bonez superflo system I removed the metal cross brace under the car, to make it easier to install the pipe. The brace runs from frame rail to frame rail. This thing is heavy. I put the brace back on after the cat install. If someone made one of these braces in aluminum it would save some real weight. Anyone know of such a thing?

HA HA....

I was just talking to the "mazcare" boys in Atlanta about removing the some of the "crashworthy" reinforcement the convertible has.

Seems like someone mentioned the front strut tower brace would more than make up for it.

I do enjoy the "planted" feel the convertible has around the corners, but your right weight savings that doesn't affect noise reduction, handling, or the "amenities" is good in my book

rx7.com sells a cusco lower a-arm bar that connects the rear mounts of the front a-arms together. It supports the same area as the piece you are talking about and it only weighs 2 pounds. This is what I did, and recommend it to any vert owner. I saved almost 40 pounds and actualy got a stiffer ride!

Sounds like exactly what I need.
Did you install this in conjunction with an upper strut mount bar?
