Vert top help

S4 vert

OK so my top dosnt work and I have read the FSM on how to test the voltage going to the motors and computer. And here is what I got.

Connector f-71

C read 12.3v

F reads 10.4v

E reads 10.35v

B reads .735mv

I did not move onto r30-r31 because of the flow of the chart. Should I have. I checked out the harness for an open wire, but it also tests out good. This leaves the switch. I am almost sure that is the problem but how do I go by inspecting and repairing the switch.

I am not to good with electronics but I can understand the basics but if there is a repair procedure it would be helpful if there was a schematic, or pictures.

Also I would like to note that the top has not been used in over 5 years.

Hook one wire up to a ground in your car, and the other wire up to the "C" terminal. Now, turn your key to the RUN position. Go plug the extension cord into a wall socket in your garage/house. The added voltage of the house current should make the top go up/down. If this doesnt work, try taking the wire off the "C" terminal, and put it on the "E" terminal. That should do the trick. Good luck!!
240v to raise a roof - its impressive

personally i would lower and raise the roof by hand a few times ( you can put a screwdriver into the motor somewhere and lower it that way )

loosen up the motors like this - then try the switch

Just verifing that you do know that you need to engage the e-brake for the top to work. This is a very common mistake that people make.

I have had 2 problems with my convertible top motor.

The parking brake was pulled but the parking brake switch was not working so the top would not move. Make sure the light on the dash comes on.

The switch itself was acting up and I had to push it a couple times till it would make contact.

Yep, the ebrake is pulled, and the car is in neutral.
