id recommend it acutally. i converted 2 cars.

step 1 - roll the widow down about half way

step 2 - take a 10mm socket with an extension and unbolt the 4 bottom bolts and 2 top bolts in the middle of the door (after removing the interior panel of course...).

step 3 - stick the socket inside the holes on the door and remove the 2 bolts/screws holding the glass in place. Be carefull not to juggle the glass loose and have it drop and crack...

step 3 - gently pry the window weather molding off and unplug the power motor.

carefully slide the glass up and out at an angle set it aside. pull the motor/track out and the installation of the new manual track should be self explanitory.

it takes me 5 minutes per window now that i know how to do it so its easy to figure it out.

to remove the interior panel there should be 4 screws on the armrest, 1 screw on the handle trim, 1 screw behind the handle trim, 3? screws on the bottom of the panel and maybe 1 or 2 others misc placed.. you will have to either find manual interior door panels or cut holes in yours for the cranks. you can keep the handle with the switch or find a switchless handle. its up to you how good or ghetto you want it to look.

I did it. Mine is 88 vert but IFIK manual window track from coupe won't fit vert.

See https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/vert-manual-window-396102/

All you have to do is drill new bolt holes if the vert and coupe tracks have different "bolt patterns". the coupe glass should work on the vert, but you probably want to keep the 2 piece glass.

So the vert track is a couple more inches to the left and the coupe cable isnt long enough? I didn't think about that... I guess you could mount the new manual crank wherever it will reach and drill new holes for it. Then cut out a hole in the AUTO door panel for the crank...

But, can't you just rig up a longer cable or something?

Manual windows with the counterweight are heavier than the power windows on the vert. Not getting why anyone would do this.

because power anything will fail eventually just like manual will but if power fails your fucked and i dont like that.

so now i dont get this. why cant i just swap everything in there like it would be in the coupe and just drill new holes for the mounting of the vert glass?

k i was looking over at that link and you used the verts guides. see i have a complete manuel setup for an 89 gtu. i should just be able to swap everything from the manuel doors to the vert doors right? and just drill new holes for the vert glass right? then wualah... i hope

The front and center guides on the vert are different than the coupe. You would not be able to use the coupe glass. You have to use the vert glass.

So you either follow what kiyoshi did, or you come up with your own way.

the mirrors may break next, convert them now to manual.

I mean really why would you take out the power windows if they are not broken?
The door panels are different, the regulator different, the glass different.

The motor will break as well, better take it out and start pushing the car around town.

ok i dont want to hear about motors breaking and **** ok i just want to know a simple thing.

i do NOT want to use the couple glass.
i WANT to use the vert glass on the coupe manuel runner
is that possible? all i should have to do is drill new holes on the runners to make the VERT window fit on the MANUEL runner. RIGHT?????

oh FIY i just plain and simple dont like power windows thats all. cant someone not like power windows and try to ask simple questions on how to transfer his power vert windows to manuel? i mean come on and blank off
