Vert manual window
This is what I've done on my driver side power window for my 88 vert. I admit this is not perfect but I'd like to share this so that someone else can come up with better solution
On day my driver side window stopped working because broken wire jammed inside regulater. New one is too expensive. Or I can find used one but nobody knows how long it lasts. But I actually like manual window especially on old cars (yeah our cars are really old). So I ended up with the following way.
Because coupe and vert guides are not interchangable, I decided to use just coupe's cables and crank with vert's window guide. The problem was that coupe's cable (gray one) was somewhat shorter(?) than vert's. I could find a cable to fit with, but, I didn't want to open the manual crank to wind two cables up properly (I did it last time and it was not simple as I thought). To have coupe's gray cable fit with vert's window guide, I bolted on a little white pully thing (taken out from coupe's guide) near the bottom of the guide and I mounted gray cable with a tie at the top of the guide so that gray cable could travel shorter. But bad thing of this way is that because the white pully thing is now on the end of the guide, it prevents the window goes to the bottom. I crank it down as possible as I can, I still see about one inches of glass there :/
Anyway it's manual now!
