Vert BACKSEAT custom work!!!

Has anyone ever custom mounted a FC backseat into the Vert? I was looking at the back section and if the targa section was removed before the top went down the seat may actually fit back there... I could really use the seatage for my two small kids, but I would like some thoughts and tips. I know it would be a completely custom fit/mount but my welding skillz are up to the task.... Help me think this through...

Sounds pretty difficult, and not very practical. where would you keep the spare tire? or will you just start walking if you get a flat? thats not something you want to do with kids (expecially small ones).

if these kids are small why not just keep them in the trunk? (J/K) I doubt they would have very much headroom back there with the top up (once they get bigger that is).

you'd have to do some pretty serious cutting of the chassis
and then it would probably flex... alot, cos the coupe doesn't have that there so it must be there for a reason in the vert.

All I know is, you are crazy. There is so much crap back there. And even if your welding skills are tip top. Your messing with the integrity of the car. Think of the kids if you got into an accident. You don't want to see these verts get into an accident. They are not as rigid as the hard tops and your putting your kids in a place where the car buckels in an accident from the rear. These verts usually get totaled from rear end accidents.

thats really clean, but i hate the colors. i really wish i could see that in person, and get a better look at it. Do you have anymore pictures static? i honestly didnt think you could fit seats back there.

Couldnt you fit the spare tire in the trunk?

The spare will fit in the trunk just like it does with the coupe, though it is not quite a perfect fit. Even without the targa section, the top frame seems too rigid and bulky to provide enough room for the back seat.

Even if those seats fold down, there's no bump-stop to keep the targa section secure with the top down.

I think this is one of those ideas that should never have reached the keyboard, let alone the car...

Funny you say that... Some of the minivans that are out there have faster 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times then most N/A rx-7's..... pretty funny. But SCCA rules will not allow a mini-van to run out on course..
