VDI Lubrication? FSM says nothing!
VDI Lubrication? FSM says nothing!
Like the topic says, I'm finally
assembling my rebuild and the FSM says nothing about what to lubricate the VDI with. ScrapFC suggested Tri-flow, but I'd like a second opinion guys. Any thoughts? It's already got scrape marks on the plastic bit and I really don't want this sticking, with my luck half open. :/

IMHO it will spin a lot more easily dry with air blowing over than it would smeared in vaseline... so I cleaned it up, dried it, and put it back in when I did my rebuild. No problems so far :P
I use spray graphite for lubing the VDI on assembly. You only want to use dry lubricants, wet lubricants such as lithium grease or even WD-40 will just attract dirt and gum it all up down the road.
