vacuum spider
I removed my vacuum spider on an 86 NA, and was wondering about the support that go from the block to the dynamic chamber, I am guessing those are just to hold the spider in place, therefore I don't need them when I reinstall the Dynamic chamber?
Also, is it a good idea to break off the atomizer for the fuel injectors, or should I not, just curious at how much they really do, or if they are just in the way.

there is a thread about the secondary atomizer somewhere on the forum, i can't find it right now but i'm pretty sure the concensus was to replace the old ones. the originals get brittle and can snap off and drop into your engine that = BAD. but some people were saying they broke off the legs and put the ring back in as a spacer with no perfmace difference. other people swear that you need new one in there... so it's really up to you.
as for the support I would keep it on there or make a custom one that only is big enough to hold up your DC.

I would keep it in place. Like the guy said before me, you could cut off all the lines you don't need, but keep all the bolt places in tact. Other than the 3 supports, there are 4 places that the spider bolts to the block/manifolds.
2 right under the DC, 12mm bolts, the one has your injector ground ring terminal.
1 on the LIM, front side, 10mm bolt
1 on the UIM back side, 10mm bolt
Then again, I've never gone without it, so I don't know if you would actually need it there, just seems nice to keep the support it may need. If you were to lean on the DC, you are putting alot of pressure on the 5 bolts that hold the UIM to the LIM.
