Vacuum Lines that go from UIM to Intercooler. Do I need them?

See the attached JPG.

I got a Jspec UIM/LIM that I am swapping in. The UIM doesn't have the nipples to attach these 2 lines. They are the ones that run to the passengers side of the intercooler, right above the throttle linkage. What are they, and how can I remove them on my Jspec manifolds. Just cap off the nipples on the IC? They are rather large connections though.

Thanks for the help.

isnt that some of the cold start/accelerated warmup system? i thnk that solonid in the first pic is the AMSV, if so you dont need it and just remove related equipment and cap off left lines, please get someoen elses opinion before you do anything though because im not 100%

Thats what I /think/ it is too, but I'm not sure, so I don't wanna do anything rash. Also, after fully removing the UIM, I found a valve below the line in the picture on the right. It has a white 2 prong connector going to it. I believe that is the ASV if I remember correct, and the line I have circled is what feeds it. But I am not sure. Would I also be able to do without that?

yes, all the accelerated warm up system does is bleed air past your tb to increase the idle untill the car reaches a designated temp

i personaly dont see any reason why you woultn beable to run without it, my 7 is down rigfht now (bad jacketseals) so i couldnt tell you if it works or not

Lol. Well I made a new discovery as I am doing this. People in japan drive on the right side of their cars. Therefore the steering wheel, brakes, and clutch are on the left side. This means the brake master cylinder, and therefore the brake booster are on the right side instead of the left. For this reason, the hose going to the brake booster is in the different spot, and uses a connector that I don't have. Well shiznit.

the one on the left is the AWS. that's what gives you the 3000rpm warmup for 20 secs. I pulled mine off and caped it.

the one on the right helps with idle I belive. like when you turn the power steering. I think it works with the BAC.

Ok, well my P/S is gone. So I guess I shoudl be ok removing em. Only problem is the brake booster. I am going to somehow have to find that bracket that I don't have.

Also the vacuum nipples on the back of the UIM. There are 4 on the US one, 3 on the Jspec. I believe it is the bottom one which has the valve on it and connects to the TB that is missing. Can I cap that, or will I need to remove it from the tb? (ie tb mod)
