Vacuum Line Replacement

Since I'll be doing an engine rebuild, I thought i would accent the engine a little by getting some custom colors. I need to know how much I should buy of each diameter.

Could somebody put this together for me? I know the information is out there, I, for the life of me, cannot find it.

Yes I searched!, and Yes.. I read the FAQ. I even Google'd.

Thanks!

And YES I did see on mazdatrix where they say:

This is the amount of hose we have found to be needed for a complete hose change on your car
79-85
3.5mm 10ft
6.0mm 6ft
86-92
3.5mm 13ft
6.0mm 6ft
93-95
3.5mm 20ft
6.0mm 8ft
However, I am 90% sure that last time I did a vacuum job, I followed that guide and ended up needing to buy 8 or 10mm.

Just trying to get a definitive list PRIOR to rebuild time.

I bought my lines in a package of three different sizes bundled together... I dont know the sizes... I just know small, medium and large... The medium and large had more that enough of both in one package... They were approx 8' or 10' in length... The smallest and most commonly used size was a different story... I ended up using a surprising 20'... It went on an '89 na...

You know. I found this kit:

http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...LV?sck=2191131

It has "This Silver Mini Kit comes with 15' of 3.5mm, 10' of 6.0mm, and 2' 10.0mm hose."

If mazdatrix is correct, this has enough of every size AND more.... but, I distinctly remember having to buy more when I followed that amount last time... However, this one has an extra 2 feet or so of the 3.5.. so I figured i was safe. Now you are saying you used 20'? That sucks... Maybe you just cut long?

i was told that the diameter didn't really matter as long as it fit. 3.5mm for some of the vaccuum hoses worked fine and a bit of 6mm helped with the larger hoses. I bought a hosetechniques 2001 honda civic kit for 55 bux shipped. the RX7 kit cost 155+shipping from the same place.

I haven't had any problems yet.

I just put silicone hoses on my S5 NA, which I got from hightempsilicone.com.

I bought:
20ft-3.5mm
8ft-6mm
4ft-10mm

I ended up with a foot or so extra in each size, but that would account for any screwups. I would also suggest getting about 100, 4" UV resistant zip ties to secure the ends; although they fit very snug without them.
